At TMWA, we believe that customers should pay for what they use. People on flat rate, however, pay based on an average of what all flat rate customers use – and some use a lot more water than others. Water in the Truckee Meadows is scarce. Yet, from September of 2002 through August of 2003, one TMWA flat rate customer used over 4 million gallons of water – that's right, over 4,000,000 gallons! Read on and see for yourself why being on a meter is the right thing to do.

Actual Flat Rate Charges for 12 Months: $1,334.64 ($111.22 per month)

Flat Rate Charges for 12 Months (After Rate Increase): $1,831.20

What the customer would pay if on a meter (After Rate Increase): $12,687.24
