News & Events No Lease / Privatization for TMWA

A Customer's Perspective:

Unsolicited letter from John Fuller, Reno

To whom it may concern:

I wish to thank you for continuing to send me information about my water company.  The reason I say that it is my company is that I have a say in the operation of the company by being able to voice my opinions in an open meeting format.  I have spoken in several open meetings and was allowed to express my opinions.  I must say that I have always been on the side of TMWA.

I feel that TMWA is a great and highly efficient run business.  If you look at some of the competitors and private water companies one can see the problems that exists.  The Regional Plan Update expressed the issues when Judge Hardesty had to step in and settle the disagreements.  That cost us taxpayers a lot of money.

I attended a financial tac meeting and I wish that meeting would have been placed on SINCAT for all to see.  The financial, managerial, and operational aspects of TMWA were placed under the magnifying glass by the bond raters.  Impressive to say the least!

I like to think of myself as an ambassador to the Truckee Meadows Region.  I perform the duties like the meeter's and greeter's at Wal Mart.  I express my opinions to my clients about the region and what a great place we live in.  I am a Commercial Real Estate Broker and Business Broker of my firm called BBRS Commercial Real Estate.

The disagreements about the TMWA comes from folks who are not on water meters and sometimes not on sprinkler systems. They are afraid of having to pay a higher rate for an excessive amount of water usage.  The rest of the consumers are paying a higher rate to cover them.

Keep up the great work.

Have a great day.
